Feature Friday

We are such suckers for Zara basics-- it's really no surprise that we both fell in love with this adorable sleeveless top. Tucked in or out, there's something sporty chic about it that totally relates to both of our styles & at such an affordable price - we're obsessed!

Top Zara / Skirt TopShop / Purse Zara / Sunglasses Thrifted / Shoes Converse

I am a fan of the all white look, and holding true to my style found a way to make this top work without it being too girly. Although I can't wait to wear this top with some Vintage Levi 501's, today I opted to do it with a simple white skirt and converse to give me that Sporty Spice vibe. ;)

As much as I completely love the white version on Sherilynn, I was personally first drawn to this blush nude color. This kind of basic top is so versatile-- just a change in shade creates that soft, more feminine vibe that I love. I decided to pair it with this gorgeous, midi pencil skirt & nude strappy heels for a dressier feel and love how the sheen of the top complements the velvet detailing in the skirt. Understated, polished & totally sweet-- everything I adore.

Happy, happy Friday!

Hiking Gear

Read Article →
Picture Cred : Kell Holley

Okay, we can get real - NO I did not go hiking in this because my ideal hike it an intense one that requires tennies and my hair up. However, for an easy walk around Griffith Park Observatory this outfit worked out quite nicely. As I'm sure you know by now, I am a sucker for boyfriend jeans so boyfriend chinos were a no brainer! I actually have both colors in these Lucky Brand boyfriend chinos and love the comfort and the fact that I can wear them dressed up like this or on my way to go paddle boarding with friends at the beach.

For the sake of the walking I paired my outfit back to my favorite oxfords and new purse from Zara. I will definitely wear these with some killer wedges in the future - still on the hunt for that perfect patterned blazer to try with these babies too!

A lot of people think that they can't pull off the boyfriend jean look - don't be one of those people. It is absolutely not true! If it isn't your style - fine, but if you want to try it - DO IT! It is definitely my favorite trend (I sort of kind of wear boyfriend jeans almost every day) and I can tell you that anyone who wants to - short, tall, curvy, or slim - can pull these off.

What is your favorite boyfriend look?

Spring Tease

An easy tee & pair of structured shorts are no doubt my favorite Spring go-to pieces. I'm especially loving tees with a ton of detail, texture & print-- this adorable jacquard tee from Anthropologie totally sold me with its sweet, ruched sleeves & bold print. Not to mention, it's got that Bruin blue & gold going on. Fitting for the week, no?

And just to add a little more color & 'tude to the mix, I've thrown on some fun, coral wedges with this roomy tote from Zara. Keeping it chic, but totally casual. Who knew dressing up a simple tee could be so fun? ;)

The Perfect Dress

Read Article →
Photo Cred : Kell Holley

Recently I have been faced with the task of slimming down my wardrobe with things that match my style - boyish and minimalist. Of course, to me this means go shop for more clothes before I even clean out my old ones. I stumbled across this dress on Zara's website and loved the simplicity of it, and for $35 I could justify buying it in a heartbeat.

The dipped back detail and pockets give this simple dress some important details that made even the fanciest of my friends want to get it. This is definitely my perfect go-to dress for Spring/Summer. Can I justify buying the blue too? Probably... stay tuned!

I had been on a serious hunt for the perfect boyfriend this season (jeans that is ;)) & finally scored this gorgeous, distressed pair at LF a few weeks ago. Like most of you, I totally fall in love with all types of destroyed, boyfriend jeans until I put them on still to find them too big in the wrong places. Girls, sizing down is the secret! Especially by pairing them with a structured tee &/or jacket, you'll get the same relaxed look with just the right amount of polish. Add some colorful pumps & you're totally street chic. ;)

This dress is almost too perfect for the end of our SoCal Winter & a step into Spring. We love how boldly the print & shape speak for themselves, but totally leave room to personalize too.

Dress Lucky Brand Outlet / Belt Thrifted / Booties Lucky Brand

I wasn't sure about this dress when I first saw it, but Vicky convinced me to try it on and I fell in love with it's boho print and shape. I pulled the waist down to make it a drop waist, then secured it with a belt to give it an even more bohemian feel.

Like Sherilynn said, I automatically fell in love with this dress knowing full well I only needed to add few accessories to make it me. I kept the dress as is, added some cute heeled booties & bold gold jewelry to dress it up. Simple & sweet, I love!

Happy Friday friends!

If you couldn't tell already, I'm just about addicted to this skirt. Karen & I had so much fun frolicking around in DTLA last weekend & we both fell in love with the washed out effect of this wall during daylight. I've been inspired by a little neutral on neutral action lately & decided to stay in the silver family this time-- I totally adore how light & airy this soft look feels. I'm telling you girls, a tulle skirt pretty much completes life.

Then all you need is some fresh farmer's market flowers. :)

Rebellious Youth

While walking around the park on this beautiful day we started talking about our personal styles - we were laughing because I usually gravitate to two extremes: bohemian or edgy. Today I did a fuse of the two and paired my flares back to this great jacket that I found floating around Nordstrom Rack.

Lately I have really been challenging myself to mix and match what I currently own in my closet instead of buying new clothes daily (yeah, I'm not joking - hence the New Year's Res). Of course, when I come across great pieces like this jacket they get a giant exception to this challenge.

Happy Hump Day y'all!

Dress MINKPINK (here) / Cuff Lucky Brand (here) / Sandals Zara

This 80° weather is totally reason enough to bring out your new favorite maxi dress & I completely adore this exploded leopard print one. When I mentioned my obsession with easy dresses this season, I wasn't kidding. I love that this gorgeous dress boldly speaks for itself in a casual, ready-to-wear way...the pretty open-back is just a plus!

And if you haven't checked out Karen Chen's work lately, you need to hop on ova! She is magic & such a joy to shoot with!

In the meantime, have a wild Tuesday loves.

Spring Forward

Read Article →

Hello dear friends,
Thank you for continuing to support us through our mini hiatus. As we've mentioned, the past couple of weeks have been a bit of a blur but we are so excited to get back into the swing of things. The rain has passed & we are so ready to Spring forward with you all- bring on the easy dresses, bold prints & happy florals!

With the beautiful weather we have been having lately -and with festival season upon us- I love wearing long flowy skirts with sandals. This skirt is one of those finds that has been in my closet for years because it is so unique. Today I paired it with a loose fitting crop top for a true casual comfortable feel to my outfit, and a denim jacket with some great back detail.

Dress Lucky Brand (here) / Scarf Lucky Brand (here/ Boots Lucky Brand / Cuff Lucky Brand (here)

This cute popover chambray dress is totally the perfect transition to Spring-- for now I'm still adding a pair of tights & my favorite boots just to give a little more coverage. But come a few more sunny days from now, I might cas' it up with a pair of wedges & a fun belt for a bit more Spring attitude. Either way, I'm loving light chiffon scarves right now as well & what better way to celebrate the new season with vibrant florals & a day at the park with my partner in crime? ;) Thank you Terry, we had so much fun shooting & hanging out with you!

Happy, happy Monday.
